Kohortz is a platform built for the rapidly growing global community of freelancers, independent contractors and full-time part-timers. Kohortz enables them to organize themselves into teams so they can provide a more complete line of services to clients, but also ensure that they (actually) like those they work with and are able to cultivate a real team culture. If the gig economy has taught us anything it is that flexibility and freedom are highly desirable, but the flexibility and freedom of independent contracting often comes with a loss of community. There is a loss of shared accomplishment, accountability, and distributed responsibility – in short you have no one to pop bottles with, call you out on your crap or offer understanding shoulder to cry on. To solve for this, Kohortz - at its heart - is a hub of fun, networking, assembly, and productivity in this new freelancing/gig world. One can think of Kohortz as the result of a freaky four-way between Gigster (individual role processing), Match.com (team matching algorithm), LinkedIn (business/team social site), and Etsy (business/team storefronts) - with an open API that allows for all kinds of team focused add-ons, resources, tools and partnerships.
